Willie Franklin Stubbs, age 93 of Whiteville, finished his journey here on earth on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at his residence. A native of Marlboro County, South Carolina, he was born on August 28, 1925 and was the son of the late Thomas A. Stubbs and Gertie Fowler Stubbs. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Earl Stubbs, Joe Stubbs and Alfred Stubbs.

A step-daughter, Deborah Powell Hadsock. Mr. Stubbs was and optician and watchmaker for over 30 years until his retirement in Columbia, SC. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Chadbourn Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Donald Conway and Reverend RN Hood officiating.

A time of visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday until time of the service at Chadbourn Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment will be in the Celestial Memorial Gardens, West Columbia, SC. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Margaret Elizabeth Hood Stubbs of the home; two daughters, Donna Stubbs Frye (LaMont) and Teresa Stubbs McCurry (Norman) both of West Columbia, SC; a step-son, Warren Blainney Powell (Clo) of Statesboro, GA; two brothers, James Stubbs (Susan) of Columbia, SC and Tommy A. Stubbs (Donna) of Merritt Island, FL; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
