Sandra Hancock October 22, 1947 – January 15, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Sandra Hancock, 71 of Big Sandy, formerly of Huntingdon, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Hansen officiating the service.

Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers who will serve are Justin Smith, Nathan Smith, Carson Hancock, Donnie Hall, Kenneth Davis, Jr., and Danny Simpson The family will receive friends in the Oak Wood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service. Mrs. Hancock was born October 22, 1947 in Jackson, Tennessee to the late Leon and Thelma (Thompson) Smith.

She was a retired Primary School Teacher for the Benton County School System. Prior to teaching at Benton County she taught several years at Clarksbsurg High School where she was also a cheerleading coach. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Paris, Tennessee, American Poetry Society and Friends of Nathan Bedford Forrest Park.

She is survived by her husband, of 49½ years, Jerome Hancock, one daughter, Mandy Hancock of Lenior City, one son, Casey Hancock of Huntingdon, one sister, Teresa Smith (Phillip) of Atlanta, Georgia, and one brother, Carthel Smith of Decaturville. She also leaves two grandchildren, Carson Hancock and Laiken Hancock, two nephews and one niece.
