Batesburg-Graveside service for Sara Holmes Fox, 93, will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Ridge Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at First Baptist Church of Batesburg Fellowship Hall. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Batesburg General Fund, 436 W. Church St. B-L SC 29006 or a charity of your choice.

Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel is assisting the family. Mrs. Fox passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019. She was born in Edgefield, SC, daughter of the late Charlie Richard and Mary E. Schenk Holmes.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Batesburg for over 60 years having served as Church Clerk, Sunday School Teacher, and was a member of the Grace Sunday School Class. Mrs. Fox was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 6740. She retired from the Aiken Office of Senator J. Strom Thurmond and had been employed in his offices when he was Circuit Judge, Governor of SC, and Attorney.

Mrs. Fox was devoted to her family and church and appreciated her friends. God Blessed Sara and Ray with 71 years together. Surviving include her husband, W. Ray Fox; sons, Bruce (Joanna) Fox, of Columbia and Keith (Donna) Fox, of Columbia; 2 grandchildren, Meaghan Fox and Carson Fox.

She was predeceased by five sisters and one brother.
