Sciaverio “Shockey” Monfra peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the age of 89. Beloved and loving husband of 63 years to Beulah Touro Monfra. Son of the late Gregorio Monfra and Sarah Ditta Monfra.

Loving and devoted father of Kerry Monfra (Kathy) and the late Lance Monfra and Daniel P. Monfra (Survived by Annette). Beloved grandfather of Kristen Monfra, Korey Monfra, Kaegan Whittington, Kenneth Privitt, Sr., Daniel Privitt, John Cheramie and the late Guy Cheramie and Kyle Monfra. Great Grandfather of Rylan, Kolden, Paris, Damien, Arabella, Starlett, Kenneth Jr., Rochelle, Gabriel and Callie.

He is survived by his brother, Lawrence “Teets” Monfra (the late Betty) and his sister, Rosemary “Rosie” Pascal (the late Joseph). He is preceded in death by his siblings, Angelo Manfre (the late Marcella), Anthony “Tony” Monfra (the late Velma), Joseph Monfrey (the late Pearl), Antoinette “Nettie” Alario (the late Sal), Salvadore “Sal” Monfra (survived by Patsy), Angelina Aucoin (the late Francis) and Jenny Rotolo (the late Charles “Shrug”). Shockey is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. Shockey served in the Korean War while serving active duty in the United States Army. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 3500 Ames Blvd.

, Marrero, LA on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 10AM until 12 Noon. A Funeral Mass will be held at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church on Monday at 12 Noon. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
