Scott Edward Willis, age 54, of Bristol, VA entered Heaven’s gate greeted by his Mom and Dad on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at his home in the care of New Century Hospice. He was surrounded by family and friends. He was born March 27, 1965 in Bristol, TN to the late Marilyn and Jim Willis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents and several Aunts and Uncles. Scott attended Tri-Cities Christian School and later became the first high school graduate of Morrison School in Bristol, VA. He was an avid Harley Davidson fan and loved his true companion and best friend, his dog, Bear.

He worked for several trucking companies throughout his life. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Grateful hearts and many thanks are extended to his caregivers Bobbie Jo Miller and Homer Edwards for their love and support during his illness.

Scott was given loving and compassionate care by his hospice nurse Christine Stillwell and aid Brittany Miller. Survivors include his sister, Dee Willis of Bristol, brother, Joe Willis (Lisa) and son Matthew of Frisco, TX; sister, Maryann Lawson (Rob) of Chattanooga; aunts, Linda Moore of Louisville, KY, Judy Moore of Bristol, TN, Ivy Hall of Largo, FL, Betty Moore of Hagerstown, MD, Marlene Akers of Princeton, WV, and Wilma Moore of Mountain City, TN; uncles, Dave Moore (Lovena) of Bristol, TN, Larry Moore (Rose) of Abingdon, VA, Don Trivett of Bristol, VA, and Joe Moore of Mountain City, TN; and several loving and caring cousins and special friends. Special survivors include his two loving and substitute mothers, Betty Shaffer and Nancy Denton of Bristol, VA and special friends, Marie Rock and Martha Doyle.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services, 417 Lee St., Bristol, VA. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Randall Shaffer and Dr. Austin Cook officiating. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2019 at East Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Kingsport, TN.

Pallbearers will be Homer Edwards, Donald Necessary, Gabe Shaffer, Danny Gilliam, Tommy Sells, David Ketron, Robert Edwards, and Barry Necessary. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ricky Combs, Steve Vance, Todd Puckett, David Littreal, Charlie Hawkins, and Hank Roark.
