Mr. Scotty Eugene Carter, 70, of Fort Lawn, husband of Sara Lipscomb Carter, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at MUSC Medical Health – Chester Medical Center. He was born March 16, 1949 in Lancaster, a son of the late Jonathan Hoyte Carter and Sybil Stacks Carter. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Carter will be held Friday, March 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the graveside at Elmwood Cemetery in Fort Lawn with the Rev.

Mr. Carter is survived by his wife Sara Lipscomb Carter; a son, Scott Carter and his wife Crystal of Lancaster; a daughter, Crystal Sanders and her husband Jim of Lancaster; and six grandchildren, Jason Dobbins, Jordan Carter, Matthew Carter, Landon Carter, Connor Sanders and Kaitlyn Sanders. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Carter.
