Sharon Kay Cross, 74, formerly of Burlington, died Friday, September 14, 2018, at her home in Hayward, WI. Born May 26, 1944, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Orin Smith Sr. and Elizabeth “Betty” Hecox. On June 29, 1988, she married Gary Cross at Open Bible Church in Burlington.

She was a graduate of Burlington High School. She was a people person and enjoyed bingo and spending time at the casino. She was also a big animal lover.

She was very involved with her family and loved to attend family events. Survivors include her husband, Gary; one son, Wade Russell of Round Rock, TX; three daughters, Sheila Starry of Cedar Rapids, Angie Walters of Hayward, WI, and Denise Humphries of Manor, TX; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Orin Smith of Burlington; two half-sisters, Jackie Smith, and Debbie Smith. her ex husband and friend, Larry Russell.

She also fostered, Hai Nguyen and several foster children over the years. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother Gary Smith, and one sister Diane Smith. A private Graveside Committal Service for Mrs. Cross was held at Sacred Heart Cemetery with Very Rev.
