Sharon M. Oberg (née Tranetzki), age 61, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday July 13th, 2018. She was born June 20th, 1957 in Milwaukee, WI to John and Ethel (née Lange) Tranetzki. When she was in middle school they moved north to St. Germain, WI where she would go to school and eventually meet the love of her life, Russell.

Along with being a mother and then a grandmother,… Read More » she worked first at Holiday Lodge in Phelps for over 10 years as a waitress, then 22 years as a Front Desk Receptionist at American Budget Inn/American Heritage Inn/Days Inn of Eagle River, and then finally at Fosters and Smith for 5 years in the call center. She loved camping, traveling and bike riding.

One of her favorite places was Mackinac Island in Michigan. She also loved reading, spending time in her flower garden and being with her family. Survivors include her husband Russell Oberg.

Her three children Melissa Oberg of Eagle River, WI; Courtney Oberg of Rhinelander, WI; and Ashley “Jeremy” Oberg of Eau Claire, WI. She is also survived by her only grandson Elijah Oberg-Kennedy of Rhinelander, WI; her brother John (Julie) Tranetzki of Milwaukee, WI; many close brother-and-sister-in-laws and many more nieces, nephews and other loved family members. She was preceded in death by both of her parents John and Ethel, a half-sister Patricia Tranetzki, sister-in-law Linda Tranetzki, brother-in-law Bobby Oberg, in-laws Bob and May Oberg, and several aunts, uncles and extended family.

Services will all be held at the Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River. Visitation will be Wednesday July 18th from 4 to 7 PM and the service will be Thursday July 19th at 1 PM with a time of visitation and reflection an hour preceding the service.
