Shela K. Horton, 76, resident of Eldorado passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at her residence. Shela was born June 23, 1942 in Broughton to the late Clyde and Chloe (Burchell) Essary. Shela worked as a CNA at the Good Shepard nursing home in Eldorado and later retired from Fountainview Nursing Home.

She was a member of the Equality Full Gospel Church. She is survived by 8 children: Everett Roy Henson, Aaron Henson, Arnold Henson, Jerry Henson, Carl Wiseman, Melinda McKernan, Theresa Collins, Mary Foos, two sisters: Mary Tyler, Venita Carsten, 26 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Jerald Essary.

As per her wishes she will be cremated and a interments will take place at a later date at Raleigh Masonic Cemetery. Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family via the website www.
