Obituary for Sheldon Lovinger Sheldon Lovinger, 90, passed away October 3, 2018 in Rancho Mirage California surrounded by his family and dear friends. Sheldon was born December 31, 1927 to William and Evelyn Lovinger in Scranton Pennsylvania. He was the former spouse of Connie Lovinger.

Sheldon graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1945 then went on to study at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Army. Sheldon worked with his father at Lovinger’s Store for Men on Genesee Street before joining his father in their new venture Lovinger Real Estate.

Sheldon was an active member in his community. And served as president of Lake County Shrine Club, Waukegan City Club, Lake County Board of Realtors, Bnai Brith, Jack Benny PTO and the North Shore Tennis Association. Sheldon was a long time member of Glen Flora and Mission Hills Country Clubs where he enjoyed many rounds of golf including a hole-in-one.

Referred to as a card shark playing gin rummy with the guys in the locker room was his all time favorite. Survivors include his sister Joan Shaugnessy. Daughters Marcia L Battista and Diane C Wendricks and son Jeffrey.

Eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. If you knew Sheldon, he always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face. Funeral service will be held at Peterson Patch Funeral Home 408 N. Sheridan Road Waukegan on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 10:30 am Graveside service to follow at Am Echod Cemetery.
