Obituary for Sherilyn Smith Sherilyn Gay (Guffy) Smith of Perkins, OK was born in Shattuck February 24, 1942 and passed away in OKC on October 25, 2018. Services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Lost Creek United Methodist Church in Stillwater, OK. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Sherilyn married Loren “Gene” Smith on December 23, 1959. She was a bookkeeper at Ralph’s Packing Plant for 25 years and worked in the OSU Bursar’s office for 10 years. Though a huge NBA and OSU fan she was not a Thunder fan.

“God had a special plan for me even if it’s just to be a Grandma”. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Opal; husband, Gene and one sister, Paula Perry. Sherilyn is survived by her daughters and their families: Linda and Doug Griffin, Peggy and Joe Ray; her grandchildren: Branddon and Nicole Jarvis, Robin Griffin, Luke, Becca, and Libby Ray.

Her great-grandchildren; Brady, Wyatt and Claire Jarvis; and brothers and sister: Denny and Dodie Guffy, Ted and Connie Guffy, Rodney and Becky Guffy and Wanda and LaVerne Miner. Another special man in her life, Donald Edmonds, was a Godsend and a true companion to her in her life and we all love him dearly. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lost Creek United Methodist Church.
