Shirley A. Baney age 85 of Ashland, passed away Friday July 27, 2018 at Lutheran Village. Born in Ashland on July 22, 1933, the daughter of Thomas C. and Mary S. (Smith) Marsh she had been an Ashland resident all of her life and had been employed at the Medical Arts Pharmacy for twenty four years. Shirley was married to Walter Baney on February 12, 1952 and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2002.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda (Steve) Crone of Ashland, Lorie (Mark) Hamilton of Ashland and Sheila Taylor of Pataskala, Ohio. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Jeremy (Margaret) Crone of Ashland, Emily (Jeff) Schlak of Wadsworth, Lisa (Jeff) Pyles of Sunbury, Leslie (Nicholas) Vesha of Columbus, Elyn Fannon of Columbus, Melissa Hamilton of Mansfield, Elizabeth (Michael) Wurster of Dublin and Abbigail (Joshua) Bowman of Ashland. Nineteen great grandchildren also survive.

In addition to her husband Walter, Mrs. Baney is preceded in death by parents, six sisters, Virginia Levitt, Katie Forbes, Carol Keener, Mary Lou Coughenour, Florence Osborn and Margaret Markley. One brother Dale Marsh also preceded her in death. Mrs. Baney was a member of the First Church of the Brethren and enjoyed playing the piano and singing.

In keeping with Shirley’s wishes a private burial will be held at Imhoff cemetery.
