Joan Baughman age 80, of Ashland, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 at her residence. She was born April 12, 1938 in Reading, Ohio, the daughter of the late Claude and Mary (Hauser) ton. Mrs. Baughman had been a resident of Ashland County for the past 64 years.

She was a graduate of Savannah High School. Mrs. Baughman had been employed for 25 years with National Latex where she was an Inflator. She had previously been employed with Faultless Rubber and Ashland Rubber.

She was a member of the Y-Not square dancing group and enjoyed participating in numerous car shows. On July 14, 1961 Joan married Larry Baughman at Bethel Baptist Church in Savannah by Rev. Rodney Keim.

Survivors include her husband, Larry; daughter, Tami (Chris) Malec; son, Terry (Liby) Baughman; grandsons, Matt Kries, Christopher (Katie) Baughman, and Cory Baughman; great granddaughter, Alexis McGoun; step- grandsons, Colten and Andrew Roepke; niece, Paula Weirick; brothers, Virgil (Sandy) ton and Dean (Soria) ton; sisters, Margie (Tom) Bartley, Alice (Robert) Gregg, Cathy ton and Rosemary (Daniel Keck) ton; along with numerous friends from car shows. In addition to her parents Joan was preceded in death by her brothers, George, Lee, and Robert; and her father and mother in-law, George and Evelyn Baughman whom she thought of as parents. Funeral services will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Ben Roby officiating.

Burial will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Joan’s memory to Hospice of North Central Ohio 1050 Dauch Dr. Ashland, Ohio 44805.
