Danny Lee Yeager age 52, of Ashland, passed away unexpectedly at his residence Monday, July 9, 2018. He was born February 18, 1966 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of the late Dennis Keith and Ruth Ann (Steiner) Yeager. Danny had been employed with Kad- Del as a custom Fabricator for the past 32 years; he also had painted cars and did body work.

He had first been employed with Ashland Restaurant and Happy Time Pizza. Danny was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He and his wife Debbie enjoyed Muscle cars and tearing up the town in their Cuda.

They also both enjoyed attending and entering car shows. Another passion was dirt track racing that he was introduced to by his father in-law Charlie Heifner and brother in-law Jeff Esbenshade. Danny was nick named by his many friends as “Dan Dan the Race Car Man” and “Speedy” by his wife Debbie.

Danny was an avid Denver Bronco fan, NASCAR fan, The Walking Dead fan, online racing fan, and loved music especially Rock N Roll. He also enjoyed the outdoors camping and fishing. Danny was an animal lover especially his beloved dog Tequila and cats, Gidget, Boogie, Taz, Patches, Shadow, and Dakota.

On May 30, 1992 Danny married the love of his life that he referred to as “Baby” Deborah “Debbie” Heifner Yeager who survives. Also surviving are his brothers, Jeff Yeager Sr. of Ashland, Nick Yeager of Ashland; nephews, Jeff Yeager Jr., and Devin Yeager; 3 half-brothers; his half-sister; step son, Johnny Byers of Ashland; step daughter, Jamie Reed of Ashland; his step grandchildren, Corby, Austin, and Cody; his mother in-law, Shirley Heifner; his best friend, Rusty Brinker; along with his many sisters and brothers in-law. In addition to his parents Danny was preceded in death by; grandparents, Byron and Margarete Yeager; father in-law, Charlie Heifner; nephew, Billy Nixon; and brothers in-law, Matt Smith and Randy Treece.

A Celebration of Danny’s Life will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 4:00 P.M. with Mr. Daniel Hale officiating. Military Honors will be presented by the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 P.M. until service time.
