Shirley Catherine “Shirl” Wilson, 75, of Taneytown died peacefully on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Frederick Health and Rehabilitation Center in Frederick. Born June 25, 1942 in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Stephanie (Deptula) Mogler. She was the wife of the late David Wilson, who died in 1992.

She was the fiancée of Carl Arent of Taneytown. Shirl was a secretary for Westinghouse Corporation in Sykesville and the Community College of Baltimore County. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown.

She enjoyed horseback riding, listening to bluegrass music, dancing and playing card games. In addition to her fiancé Carl, she is survived by her brother, John G. Mogler and his wife Carol of Larkspur, CO; sister-in-law, Marsha Kondrich of PA; brother-in-law, Bruce Wilson of PA; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, MD with Father John F. Lesnick as celebrant.

Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park near Sykesville. Arrangements have been entrusted to MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Taneytown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shirl’s name to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave.
