David George Schweinsberg, 62, of Taneytown died on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born October 15, 1955 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William and Lucille (Weichert) Schweinsberg. David was a Maintenance Supervisor for Walmart in Hanover, PA.

He enjoyed bird watching, hunting, fishing, playing Texas Hold ‘Em poker and spending time with family, especially time at the beach with his daughter and granddaughters. He loved cookouts and telling elaborate stories, and was always quite the practical joker. Surviving are daughter, Jennifer Schweinsberg and husband Rick Shipp of Berlin, MD; long-time companion, Brenda Slaybaugh of Aspers, PA; siblings, Mary Lou Mayle of Fawn Grove, PA, Charlene Fitzgerald of Westminster, William Schweinsberg, Jr. of Taneytown, Betty Ann Warehime of Westminster, Timothy Schweinsberg of Taneytown, Michael Schweinsberg of Glenville, PA, Pam Sallada of Manassas, VA, Steven Schweinsberg of Hagerstown, Raymond Schweinsberg of Taneytown, Barbara Wilson of Littlestown, PA, Joseph Schweinsberg of Hanover, PA, Kathleen Wright of Hanover, PA and Paulette McDevitt of Hagerstown; 3 grandchildren, Chelsea, Bailey and Ricki; and many nieces and nephews.

David’s family will receive friends at a visitation and viewing that will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, May 3rd at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David’s name to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave. , Westminster, MD 21157.
