Obituary for Sidney W. “Sidro” Emmons Sr. Sidney W. Emmons Sr., 78, of Muskogee, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018, after a short illness, at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center, surrounded by family. He was a life-long resident of Muskogee. Born on November 19, 1939 he was the beloved son of the late Windfred R. and Thelma (Clark) Emmons.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy between 1957 and 1960. He enjoyed boating, golfing, cooking, watching NASCAR, and spending time with family. He worked with automobiles his entire life, retired in 2013 from Dunn Country Chevrolet, and worked over the years at West Side Motors and Auto Mall of Muskogee.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon of 19 years; his children, Sidney W. Emmons Jr and wife Robin, Christine Sarracco and husband John, all of Wallingford, CT; and Craig Emmons, of Muskogee, OK; grandchildren, Samuel and Benjamin Emmons, Brandon and Chelsey Sarracco, and Sarah Emmons; great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Lucas, and Lennon; step-children, Nick, Jeff and Ashley Oliver; sisters, JoAnn Argo, Patsy Hansen, and Debbie Byrum; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by brother, Ronald Emmons, sister, Joyce Keith; and nephew, Michael Keith. He will most be remembered for his good humor, kind and generous spirit, and the love that he had for his family.
A celebration of Sidney’s life will be 10:00am, Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Bill Crow officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sidney W. Emmons Jr., Craig Emmons, John Sarracco, John Hansen, and Dolin and Dilon Argo.
