Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation at the Werson Funeral Home, 635 N. Wood Ave. , Linden, on Sunday, March 10 from 2 – 6 pm.

The Funeral Service is Monday at the Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Slavo was born in Visnove, Slovakia to Pavel and Eva (Stefanechova) Kozar.

He proudly served his country in the Slovakian Army for 2 years. He immigrated to the US in 1970, settling in Newark for many years, prior to moving to Linden 47 years ago. Slavo was a self-employed Carpenter/Contractor for 29 years, retiring in 2007.

He was a former member of the Slovak Culture Club and a member of the Jednota Association. He enjoyed skiing, soccer and hockey which he played until he was 70. Slavo is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Maria (Buban) Kozar; his devoted children, Loray Kozar, Amy Oliveira and her husband John and Dana Araujo and her husband Kevin; his cherished grandchildren, Justin Araujo, Jace Araujo, Ayla Oliveira and Willow Oliveira and his brother Dusan Kozar.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Anna Strauch, Helen Strauch and his brother Milan Kozar.
