SSgt. Damon’s Obituary Damon Lee Vanosdoll, age 29, of Blue Springs, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019. He was born July 13, 1989 in Kansas City, KS the son of Clark Lee Vanosdoll and Sherry Lynn (Burris) Vanosdoll Hicks.

On April 1, 2010, he and Kelly Hannah Gardner were united in marriage in Lee’s Summit, MO. Damon enjoyed being the best father to his kids, and spending time with his family. He had two Community College of the Airforce Degree’s and proudly served in the USAF from July 2009 until his passing.

He is survived by his wife, Kelly; a son, William Clark Vanosdoll; a daughter, Korie Hannah Vanosdoll; his parents, Clark and Sherry Vanosdoll; brothers, Devon Clark Vanosdoll, William Ray, Drew Hicks, and Ryan Noll Hicks; sisters, Natalie Allis Hicks and Emily Rose Comstock; a grandmother, Nancy Lee Vanosdoll; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Clark Vanosdoll. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Blue Springs.

Interment will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Gary Sinise Foundation and can be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
