Allen Lavon Watson July 29, 1942 – March 03, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card SERVICES: Wednesday, March 6, 2019 Jones and Son Chapel 2:00 p.m. INTERMENT: Freeman Cemetery VISITATION: Tuesday, March 5, 2019 Jones and Son Funeral Home 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2019 for Staff Sgt. Allen Lavon Watson, age 76, of Richton, at Jones and Son Chapel.

Mr. Watson passed away to his heavenly home on March 3, 2019 at his residence. Bro. Jerry Overstreet, Bro.

Dustin Helton and Bro. Rayburn Freeman will officiate with burial to follow in the Freeman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Wayne Dykes, Mitchell Dunnam, Andrew Redmond, Nathan Redmond, Patrick Culpepper, Landon Culpepper and Peyton Culpepper.

Jacob Watson will service as an honorary pallbearer. Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton “Shorty” and Audrey Watson; sister, Kathern Freeman; brother, Thomas Watson. He is survived by his wife, Inez Watson of Richton; sons, Allen (Amey) Watson of Ovett, Raymond (Mary) Updegraff of Richton, Richard Updegraff; daughters, Shelia (Duane) Redmond of Petal, Andrea (Frank) Culpepper of Petal, Pamela (Brannon) Robertson of Richton; sisters, Bobbie (Ben) Freeman of Richton, Ramona (Dale) Brewer of Richton; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Watson retired as a Staff Sgt. after 26 years in the U.S. Army and MS National Guard. He was a life long member of Zion’s Rest Missionary Baptist Church and worked over 21 years as a mechanic with Scott Paper Company/Kimberly Clark.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 5, 2019 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Jones and Son Funeral Home.
