Sue Sugg Cox, 78, affectionately known as “Mama”, “Sudie”, “Grandma”, “Mammy” and “Jenny” received her angel wings on November 13, 2018. She was born on February 12, 1940 in Greene Co., NC to Kermit and McClara May Suggs. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 61 years, Monroe Cox; her parents and one brother Edward “Bud” Lawrence Suggs.

Sue was a retired farmer and homemaker. She was a longtime member of Wintergreen FWB Church and was active in the Ladies Auxiliary. Her fondest memories were of times spent with family and friends.

Survivors include her two daughters, Peggy Dunn and husband, Ronald and Cindy Cox Whitney and husband, Charlie; one son, Keith Monroe Cox; granddaughters, Bailey Dunn Phillips and wife, Sarah and Brianna Cox; sisters, Addie Bowen, Edna Moore, Kay Beasley and Diane McKeel; two brothers, Mitchell Sugg and Fred Sugg; sisters-in-law, Janet Suggs, Evelyn Cox and Ann Cox. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday evening at 7:00pm at Farmer Funeral Service-Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at 6. Interment will take place Friday Morning at 11:00am in Ayden Cemetery.
