Sue was the daughter of Fred and Parisade Wallis, wife of John William Stephenson, Jr., mother of Susan Stephenson Vanderlip and grandmother of Robert William Stoltz who all preceded her in death. She is leaving behind daughters, Nancy Stephenson Stoltz of Newnan, Betty Stephenson Hayes and her husband George of Boulder, WY; sons in law, Lee Vanderlip, Sr. of Fort Myers, FL, and Stan Smith of Salem, S.C. The sparkle in her eyes from love and pride came from her great grandchildren, Rhiannon Vanderlip, Lauryn Roland, J.D. Roland, Tierra Garrett and Garrett Sandlin. She was also blessed with many nieces and nephews. After years of being a loving wife and mother caring for her family, she worked for a few years at Mann’s Jewelry Store.
Throughout the last days of her life, she continued to be a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Newnan doing whatever she could to help and encourage so many. Her legacy to us is the example of forgiveness, caring, encouragement and the importance of making others feel worthy and special. Her friendships ran deep.
A special thanks to her caregiver and special friend, Linda Brown, to Homestead Hospice for their tender kindness and strong support, and to her many dear friends who have helped us all through this journey of life to the very end.
