Susan M. Gaul, 90, formerly of Genoa, Ohio, died Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 16, 1928 to John and Julia (Kriska) Placko. Susan married Paul Gaul on November 26, 1946 in Cleveland, Ohio, who preceded her in death on November 21, 1975.

Susan was a lifelong member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Genoa, where she had been active as a Sunday School teacher, Youth Fellowship advisor and a member of the Women’s Guild.

She, her husband and family were also custodians of the church for 20 years. Susan was also a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader in the Genoa area. Surviving Susan are her children, Paul (Karen) Gaul, Jr., Deborah (Mike) Phillips, Stephanie Gaul, Martha (Douglas) King, 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, brother, Donald (Sheelaugh) Placko and sister, Martha (Mike) Sammons.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. A memorial service for Susan will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2018, in St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1213 Washington St., Genoa, OH. Following the service the family invites all to gather in the church hall for a time of fellowship.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd. , Perrysburg, OH 43551 or Little Sisters of the Poor, 930 S. Wynn Rd. , Oregon, OH 43616.
