Barbara J. Sinn, 89, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2018 at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania. She was born February 17, 1929 in Detroit to the late James F. and Mildred G. (Gempler) Johnston. Barbara graduated from McKenzie High School and attended business school but spent the majority of her life as a devoted, loving wife and mother.

She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and also enjoyed trips to Grand Haven, Michigan with her husband. She was an avid baseball… Read More » fan, especially her beloved Detroit Tigers, and she liked to read. Spiritual by nature, Barbara will be remembered for her love, kindness and generosity.

She is survived by children, Richard E. Sinn (Claire Garrity), Patricia L. Sinn, Carol S. Birman and Thomas E. Sinn (Robin); grandchildren, Aubrey E. Sinn-Nevius, Nathaniel E. Sinn, Emily K. Sinn, Todd A. Birman, Lee A. Birman and Naomi J. Sinn; and great granddaughter, Annabelle E. Birman. Barbara was also preceded in death by her husband, Douglas L. Sinn, and brother, James F. Johnston, Jr. At her request, services will be private. The family requests that any donations be made in Barbara’s name to the Lymphatic Education and Research Network.
