Sybil Kemp Russell, 47, of Texarkana Arkansas went peacefully to be with the Lord on March 3, 2019 while surrounded by loved ones. Born June 15, 1971 in El Dorado Arkansas, raised by Elizabeth Davis & Al Blunt, she had two older sisters Diane and Gracie and a younger sister Kimberly. Sybil attended high school in Huttig Arkansas.

While married to Michael Scott Kemp, they had three children, Mitchell, Matthew and Alexandria. These children were the light of her life and the center of her world. Later in life she remarried to Sam Russell, and gained a daughter, Madison.

Sam and Sybil became inseparable and always did everything together. Sybil was an avid member with the Pink Ride cancer charity. She devoted countless hours to numerous events.

Sybil also enjoyed substitute teaching. Sybil was a sports mom with her boys and when her youngest child Alexandria became interested in dance, she took on the role of dance mom. Hours of makeup, hair, practices, and dance recitals was her focus.

Nothing made her smile more than seeing her daughter’s joy while dancing. March of 2017, Sybil started her fight with cancer. Though her appearance may have changed over the next two years, her personality never did.

She stayed the same selfless, stubborn, strong willed woman everyone always knew and loved. As her battle went on, and through the chemo and radiation, Sam never left her side and always went above and beyond to take care of Sybil. Till the end, she was always quick with a joke or sarcastic remark.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and sisters Gracie and Diane. She left behind her husband Sam Russell, sons Mitchell and wife Morgan Kemp, Matthew Kemp, and daughters Alexandria Kemp and Madison Jones, Granddaughter Avalynn, sister Kimberly, nieces Christina Wood and Crystal Young and numerous family members and friends. The family would like to thank everyone at Dierkson Hospice of Texarkana for all their help and care.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia, AR. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 9 at 2 p.m. at Lewis Chapel with Chaplain Rufus Robinson officiating with burial following at Mt Pisgah Cemetery in Emerson, AR. Pallbearers will be Matthew Kemp, Mitchell Kemp, Sam Russell, Scott Kemp, Jason Russell, and Keith Baker.
