Sylvia Joan Simmons, age 79, of Snellville, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Welcome All Missionary Baptist Church, 755 Bolton Road NW, Atlanta, with Rev. Mack M. Simmons officiating.

A native of Bellefonte, PA, Mrs. Simmons was retired as a physician’s assistant. Her last place of employment was at Northside Hospital. She had been united with Welcome All Missionary Baptist Church since 1974 and was known for being an advocate for those less fortunate than others.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thornton Simmons, and her sons, Richard John Fetterolf, Michael David Fetterolf and Steven Mark Fetterolf. Survivors include her son, Wayne Robert Fetterolf of Snellville, daughter, Wendy Susan Foy of Clermont and son, Thornton Johnathan Simmons.
