Marian Touchberry Smith, age 80 of Duluth, died September 27, 2018. Born April 28, 1938, in Sumter, SC she was a member of Summerton Baptist Church during her youth, First Baptist of Decatur while she raised her children and then transferred her membership to First Baptist Church Duluth to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She was retired after 37 years from Crawford and Company.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Blacker of Duluth and Margaret Middleton (Richard) of Duluth; sisters, Nancy Gilmour (Jim) of Columbus, OH and Donna Roberts (Art) of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Ryan Middleton and Shannon Middleton; brother-in-law, Dave Rothermel of Greenville, SC; nieces and nephews; many cousins; and many dear friends who are considered family. Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Carter T. Smith, Jr., her parents, E.M. “Jelly” & Mildred Touchberry, sister, Mitzie Rothermel and nephew, Ross M. Roberts. The family will receive friends and family Saturday, October 6th, 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Bill Head Funeral Home Duluth Chapel, 770-476-2535.

The Memorial Service will begin at 4:00 PM immediately following. Marian loved bright colors. Please feel free to wear those bright colors in her honor.
