Ritsuko was born on April 17, 1936 in Japan, to Tama and Kameji Yamashita. She grew up in Japan and worked for The Unites States Army, Japan as a translator. While working , she met and married her first husband, Aubrey Lee Gay.

In 1961 The US Navy transferred them to Jacksonville FL and while stationed there she became a United States Citizen. They later moved to Hawaii where she worked for 35 years in high end sales at Duty Free Shoppers in Honolulu. Ritsuko married her second husband, Ralph Uyeoka in 1994.

She enjoyed spending time with family and living the Hawaii lifestyle of sun, sand, and “the aloha way”. She moved to Lawrenceville, Ga in 2011 to live close to her children. Ritsuko was a wonderful and loving sister, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Her smile and infectious personality could bring joy to any room. She will be missed dearly. Ritsuko was preceded in death by her parents, Tama and Kameji Yamashita, her brothers, and her husband Ralph Uyeoka.

She is survived by her two children, Gary Gay (Judy)of Loganville GA and Donna LeighGay Riley (Robert) of Lawrenceville GA; grandchildren, Brandon Gay of Anniston AL, Christine and Nicole Riley, both of Lawrenceville GA, and Wayne Henry (Becky) of Kansas; and eight great grandchildren, Caleb, Karsyn, Byntlee, Kaenyn, Kynadee, Alyson, Grant, and Nathan; and a host of other relatives and friends.
