Sylvia Kay Barber April 19, 1949 – January 08, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Sylvia Kay McBride Barber, 69, of Rolling Park Drive, died Tuesday morning at Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday January 11, 2019, at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Elliott Sams officiating.

Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM-1:45 PM prior to the service and all other times at the home of her son Thomas Barber, 7357 W Old Highway 64, Lexington, NC 27295 Sylvia was born in Rowan County on April 19, 1949 to the late Gilmer Francis McBride and Mary Adeline Leazer McBride. She was a member of Crossroads Church.

She was a homemaker and spent most of her time rescuing animals. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Carolyn McBride and Joyce Owens. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Luther Barber of the home, son, Thomas Adrian Barber (Marie) of Lexington, daughter,Tonya Denise Barber Berrier (Jeff) of Lexington, grandchildren, Josh Barber, Tiffany Berrier and Candace Berrier, sister, Ruth Powe of Salisbury.

Also surviving are a host of nieces and nephews.
