Obituary for Sylvia Register Sylvia (Nannie) Register, departed this world for her heavenly home on June 22, 2018 after a brief illness. The devotion of her family and her unshakable faith in God supported her in this struggle and gave her ultimate peace. Sylvia was born to the late Julian and Daisy Phillips on March 24, 1933 and married the late Harry H. Register on August 12, 1951.

They spent 41 happy years together. Sylvia was blessed with a large and loving family. Left to mourn her passing are her children Michael Register (Linda), Deborah Willis (Cecil), and Sandra Register, as well as her sister Diane K. Godwin.

In addition, she is survived by 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Sylvia served faithfully as a life-long member of the Riverside Christian Church of Grifton, NC. She was active in the choir and raised her voice to God with every service.

Sylvia was a kind and gentle soul whose greatest passions included her faith, her family, music, working in her yard, and University of North Carolina Tar Heel Basketball. Services and burial to celebrate Sylvia’s life will held at the Riverside Christian Church, 545 Riverside Road (NCSR 1459), Grifton, NC 28530, on Saturday, June 30th, 2018 at 11:00am. The family requests that guests stay after the burial to continue celebrating Sylvia’s life in the Fellowship Hall of the church.
