Obituary for Thelma Peace Scruggs Thelma Izetta Peace Scruggs, 98, of Woodruff, SC, died Friday, November 9, 2018, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born September 20, 1920, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Alonzo and Gracie Louisa Peace. She was married for 45 years to the late Jonas Pinckney Scruggs.

Mrs. Scruggs loved her family and enjoyed bowling, cooking, and gardening. She was a member of Woodruff Church of God and retired from Spartanburg Technical College after 20 years of service. Survivors include her daughter, Lynn S. Jones of Woodruff, SC; grandchildren, Lori Blanchard of Georgia, Jamie Jones, Jason Jones, Kaitlyne Richards, and Cassady Richards, all of Woodruff, SC; great-grandchildren, Tatum, Kayleigh, Kiera, Ashton, and Riley Jones; sisters, Mae Peace King (Talmadge) of Spartanburg, SC and Blanche Peace Craven of Moore, SC; numerous nieces and nephews including special niece, Karyn Craven; and brother-in-law, Bryan Scruggs (Harriett) of Morrow, OH.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Theron Peace (Juanita) and Paul Peace (Frances); son-in-law, Roger Jones; granddaughter, Shannon Jones; and brother-in-law, Luke Craven. Special thanks is expressed to hospice nurse, Emma Lawing for her special care. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Friday, November 16, 2018, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with funeral services following at 2:00 PM, conducted by The Rev.

Buster Ball. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd. , Spartanburg, SC 29307.
