OBITUARY Theodore “Ted” Anthony Welch April 19, 1930 – January 27, 2019 Theodore Anthony Welch, 88, passed away Sunday evening, January 27, 2019 at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. Ted was born in Louisville on April 19, 1930 to Helen and Martin Welch.

He served our country during the Korean War while enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. During his deployment, he was part of the VMA 214 Air Fighter Squad. Ted also was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

After he was discharged from the Marines, he went on to work for General Electric Appliance Park, where he retired after 35 years. He was a KY Colonel. Ted was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Raymond and Richard Welch; and two sisters, Catherine Burns and June Cole.

Here to carry on his memory are his wife of 65 years, Delia Carrier Welch; son, Wayne A. Welch (Rebecca); daughter, Betty M. Jobson (Robert); three grandchildren, Ashley Duke (Wes), Briana and Brett Welch; one great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Friday, February 1st at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. A service honoring Ted will take place at 10am on Saturday, February 2nd at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
