OBITUARY Theresa Crouch December 5, 1919 – December 24, 2018 Theresa Johnson Crouch, 99, of Highland Springs, passed on Monday, December 24, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Crouch, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her two sisters-in-law, June Crouch and Betty C. Sickenger and a host of nieces and nephews.
When her husband’s work took them to Northern Virginia, she became heavily involved in The League of Woman’s Voters. She met and maintained many friendships with many interesting people. After Johnny’s passing, she volunteered her time with children at Highland Springs Elementary School.
She loved their smiles and laughter. She was an active member of Highland Springs United Methodist Church, Highland Springs Woman’s Club and Highland Springs Garden Club. Theresa was a kind lady who loved being with her family.
She had a smile that would light up the room. Being optimistic and well- spoken gave her the ability to meet and communicate with people from all walks of life and all ages. Even as she aged, she maintained her interest in people and current events.
Within the family, the saying was, “If you are having a bad day, call Aunt Theresa”. She was always there with a smile and a positive word. The family will receive friends Thursday, Dec.
27, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. , Richmond, VA 23231. A funeral service will be held Friday, Dec.
28, at 11 a.m. at Highland Springs United Methodist Church, 22 N. Holly Ave. , Highland Springs, VA 23075. Interment will be Monday, Dec.
