Theresa DeAngelo was born on April 16, 1932 in Jersey City, NJ to Dominick and Nancy Colasurdo. She was the oldest daughter in a large Italian family. At a meeting arranged by their parents she met John DeAngelo, the true love of her life.

After a short 2 month courtship they married on December 15, 1951. They had 6 children whom they loved very much. Theresa became a widow and a single mom when her Johnny died of cancer on April 1, 1973.

She worked hard all her life. Her first real job was selling newspapers at 9 years old. She also worked as a seamstress at Bayonne Naval Base.

On the assembly line at Lily Tulip in Holmdel, NJ. As head cook in a nursing home. As a manager in a car wash and as a child care worker.

Along the way she managed to get her G.E.D. Theresa was a woman of faith who loved God and knew how to pray, even from her youth. Her faith was the glue that held her together and gave her the strength to continue through the most difficult of times. Her faith enabled her to treat everyone kindly, to hold no grudges and to forgive those that hurt her.

She knew how to love. She loved church, she taught Sunday School and volunteered however she could. Even in her last months she made every effort to attend church and ladies bible study.

She is predeceased by her daughter Nancy, her son Patrick, her husband John, her sister Nancy and her brother Dominick. She leaves to cherish her memory her children JoAnne and Chip Dudden, Frank and Neda DeAngelo, Donna DeAngelo, John and Kelly DeAngelo and her grandchildren April and Barry Tinsley, Chip and Debbie Dudden, John and Loretta Dudden, Nika and Jack Spencer, Richard and Ashley Pheffer, Tiffany and Alex Falzon, Laura and Matt Pittelli, John DeAngelo III, her brother John Colasurdo and his wife Googie, her sister Mary Holowienka and her brother Joseph Colasurdo. She also had 12 great grandchildren, Ashley, Malachi, Noah, Abeni, Josiah, Alethiah, Isabella, Alexandra, Riley, Layla, Evan, Ellie and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
