Obituary for Theresa “Terry” Mivelaz Theresa Mivelaz, 77, peacefully passed away November 8, 2018 at Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents: Mary Zita and Joseph Thompson; a sister in law, Charnell Meredith; and a brother in law, Russell Meredith, all of Louisville, KY. “Terry” to all who knew her, loved being a caregiver and spent many years as a nurse until her retirement from Twinbrook Nursing Home.

However, her true joy was being a mother and grandmother to her five children and five grandchildren. She was totally dedicated to them in all aspects of their lives. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sheri Downer (Matthew), Lisa Mivelaz and fiancé Todd Boston, Angie Kessler (Steve); sons Chuck Mivelaz (Deanna), Steve Mivelaz (Amy); her sister, Jean Drescher; five grandchildren, Brandon Mivelaz and fiancée Abby Steinacker, Aaron Mivelaz, Jordan Riddle, Jenna Kessler, Linsey Kessler; and father of her children, Charles Mivelaz.

Visitation will be 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2018 at Ratterman Funeral Home, at 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville, KY 40243. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1000 N Beckley Station Rd, Louisville, KY with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bardstown, KY. The family wishes to thank the staff at Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital and especially Dr. Moutaz Al-Nabhan (“Dr. Al”) for the amazing care they administered over the last eight months.
