THOMAS CALVIN’s Obituary Thomas Calvin Cummings, 73, of Henderson, Kentucky, went to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, Monday, October 22, 2018, under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center. Tom loved Jesus and was a member of First Baptist Church. He loved his family, he loved basketball, and he loved mowing grass.

In his later years, he even created a mowing ministry that provided the way for many student youth to attend church camps and mission trips. Tom was a retired Basketball coach, teacher, and assistant principal. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Doris Jean Keown; his parents, Johnny Cummings and Ulva Wilson Cummings; one brother, Cliff Cummings; and one sister, Florence McDaniel.

Survivors include two sons, John Paul Cummings and his wife, Tricia, and Jimmy Cummings, both of Henderson, Kentucky; two brothers, Johnny Cummings Jr., and Benny Cummings; five granddaughters, Emily McFadden, Lauren Cummings, Carly Cummings, Skye Goodman, and Aidan Cummings; two great-grandchildren, Kate McFadden and Clark McFadden; nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Reverend Alan Chamness will officiate.

Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to First Baptist Church or St. Anthony’s Hospice.

Pallbearers will be Joe Doom, David Cummings, Barry Cummings, Scott Cummings, Bill Sherman, Gary Meredith, Brett Meredith, and Porter Martin. Bill Rideout will be honorary pallbearer. Online condolences can be made at www.
