Holyoke: Thomas S. Rex, 75, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 at his home in Holyoke surrounded by his family. He was born in Holyoke to the late Charles and Agnes Rex. He graduated from St. Jerome High School and was a trained and skilled plate making professional.

Tom worked for Valley Graphics in Holyoke, MA for over 40 years. Tom was the true definition of a loyal, caring, and dedicated father, grandfather, and friend. He lit up a room with conversation and his quick wit.

His life’s mission was his work, but most importantly taking care of his six daughters. Tom was predeceased by the love of his life Ann Rex in 2010. Tom and Ann always enjoyed trips to the casino, holidays, and being with their family and friends.

He leaves behind his brother David and wife Linda of Holyoke, Kenneth; brother & wife Julie of Maine, his sister Pauline of Granby. He was predeceased by his brother Charles. He leaves behind his beloved daughters Tammy Rex of Longmeadow, Kimberly Rochford of S. Hadley, Laura Hall of Westfield, Jennifer Rex of Easthampton, Alison MacLeod and her husband Michael of W. Springfield, and Melissa Rex of Agawam.

He will be forever missed by his grandchildren, Ashley, Brianna, Benjamin, Caitlyn, Aidan, Ellie, Ashton, Harper, and Hailee who brought smiles to his face anytime he saw them. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great friends and neighbors. Tom will be missed by his dear friends Maryann and Don Pepin.

Tom made a lasting impact on many people throughout his life; he was one of a kind. He was a generous man; always putting others needs ahead of his own. The family would like to thank the nurses of MM7 who showed compassion & kindness to their father.

The family would also like to thank the Baystate Congestive Heart Failure team, along with his medical team at Pioneer Valley Cardiology, Dr. Joelson and John Michael Cycz. A funeral home service will be held Friday, May 25th at 10 a.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street. Burial will follow at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, South Hadley.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 24th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, gifts of gratitude can be made to Baystate Heart and Vascular in memory of Tom, 759 Chestnut St., Spfld MA 01199.
