Thomas A. Smanda, 75 years old, passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Trailpoint Village in South Bend. Thomas was born on August 9, 1942 in South Bend to the late Arthur and Alma (Beitler) Smanda. He has lived in South Bend most of his life.

Thomas was a retired accountant for the City of South Bend with the Water Works Department. He was a graduate from St. Joseph High School and from Indiana University, South Bend. Thomas has been a faithful member of St. Matthew Cathedral, South Bend.

Thomas is survived by a small number of extended family. Private services and burial were held at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
