A spitfire of a woman, you knew not to ask her anything if you weren’t prepared to hear the truth. An avid lover of gardening and canning, fishing, horseshoes, coffee, cooking, and family gatherings, she made it her mission to always fill the room with laughter and create memories to last a million lifetimes. On the rare occasions she felt the need to discipline her children or grandchildren, you could rest assured no one was scarred for life by spending a day shucking corn or snapping green beans.
Ask all around, no one on earth makes a better chocolate pie, peanut butter roll, batch of divinity, hot dill pickles, homemade spaghetti or cornbread stuffing that was a requirement at every Thanksgiving gathering. A jokester till the end, Tommie made sure to lighten the mood during her most recent hospital stay by picking fun at her family members and keeping them in stitches. Nothing meant more to Tommie than ensuring each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren knew exactly how special they were and just how much she loved them.
