Tonya’s Obituary Tonya Lee Pocan, age 51 of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 in Madison. She was born on June 23, 1967 in Racine to Lois Reiter and the late Donald Richmond, and her caring father, the late James “Teeter” Webster. Tonya was united in marriage to Michael James Pocan, Sr. on February 22, 1997 at St. Michael Catholic Church, in Keshena.

She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, in Neopit. Tonya was forever a caregiver. She was very involved in Neopit children’s activities; working with the Boys and Girls Club and St. Anthony’s Catholic Church community.

Tonya took in many children and treated them as her own. She loved the outdoors; fishing, hunting, spearing, berry picking and riding in the woods. Tonya loved dancing and music.

She was a fighter; the word “can’t” was not in her vocabulary. She always gave it her all. Her life revolved around her family.

She loved cooking big meals, and spending time with her grandchildren. “Nana ‘wuvs’ her babies”. Tonya is survived by: her husband, Mike Pocan; her children; Samantha (Michael) Grignon, Justine (Waldon) Peters, Jr., Catherine “RinRin” (Allison Bailey) Pocan, Raeshene Pocan, James (Kelsey LaTender) Pocan and Meshan Michael James Pocan, Jr.; grandchildren; Kaylupe Wayne Pocan, Kiyrah Peters, Waldon Peters III, Tayson Peters, Clayton Grignon, Blayke Peters, Xaiden Waukau, Jerred Caldwell and Noah Grignon; mother; Lois Jean Webster; siblings; Carrie Lynn Webster, Vanessa Waukau, Jackie Webster, Valerie Rupar, Serena Webster, Jim Black Webster, Darrell Webster and Mike Reiter.

She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her fathers; one daughter, Justina, in infancy and one sister, Tina Richmond-Reiter. A Mass of Christian Burial for Tonya will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Neopit, with Father Nonito Barra officiating.

Visitation will be held at the Neopit Community Center in Neopit from 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2018 until time of services. A parish wake service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the Neopit Community Center.
