Joye’s Obituary Joye Louise (Hampel) Hillman, age 91, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019. Joye was born on September 5, 1927 in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Louis and Tyne (Paalu) Hampel. Joye was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Hillman.

Joye loved gardening and providing a helping hand or words of comfort and support to everyone she knew. She was very involved in the community and belonged to many organizations, including Shawano Fine Arts Council, the Shawano County Historical Society, Shawano NAMI, Shawano Order of the Eastern Star #167, Daughters of the Nile in Green Bay, and Step-N-Sisters Tap Dance. Joye is survived by: her husband, Gerald; daughter Janis (Joe) Urban of Clintonville; son, Todd (Betsy) Hillman of Florida; three grandchildren, Chelsea Urban of Menasha, Lauren Hillman of South Dakota, and Dylan Hillman of Florida; and a sister Janice (Fred) Schulz of Milwaukee.

She was preceded in death by a son, Wade Hillman and her parents. In honoring Joye’s wishes, no services will be held. www.
