Toyocko’s Obituary Toyocko DiJerl Comer was born to Rhonda Diane Evonne Comer and Norris Eugene Johnson on April 6, 1973. Due to the early death of his father God gifted him with a new father, Terrence Squire, who raised him into the remarkable person that we know. Yocko, as he was affectionately called discovered the second love of his life…Food!
! Ms. Diane knew that if there was food involved then Yocko was close. He was a member of Newbridge Baptist church where he was baptized and taught the principles of life.
As he grew up he was quickly realized he has the gift of laughter, and he used it intentionally and unintentionally. He was able to use humor to get out of many situations. Yocko graduated from Virginia Randolph High School.
Over the coming years he became a real Ladies Man. He even became a locally famous “dancer” (wink-wink). He worked as a Nursing Aide for many years at various nursing homes.
His confidence was larger than life, along with his personality. His brothers loved his penchant for ‘going solo’. He made friends wherever he went and his realness made them lifelong friends.
Yocko spent the last few years living in Whitcomb Court. This part of his life will be now known as “World War Grandma Annie”. The laughter and memories from their many “Wars’ will go written with love in Johnson Family History.
Yocko learned of his illness, Multiple Myeloma, a severe and aggressive form of Cancer a few years ago, Initially He didn’t want to bother anyone so he kept it hidden. After learning of the illness his brothers and sister ensured that he wouldn’t fight alone. With the support of his Sttepfather and brothers he moved in with his sister Adline, sisinlaw Sabrina and niece Mashirah.
They all fought hard with his 10 hour treatments, his special “spoiled” meals while still singing, dancing and reminiscing in his favorite chair. He fought a long, hard, courageous and admirable battle. With this last crisis he was weak and he advised that he was ‘tired’, God presented him his “Golden Ticket”.
