Travis’ Obituary Travis Wayne Duchesne, 40, Farmington, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Travis was born April 19, 1978 in Warrensburg, Missouri, where he spent his young life, attending Crest Ridge High School. He moved to Rogers, Arkansas and graduated from Rogers High School in 1997.
Anxious to make a life for his first child, he began his career and quickly discovered his heart for helping people with maintenance of just about anything. At 48/40, where he worked up to the time of his passing, he used his expertise in repairing trailers, performing building maintenance, and shuttling trailers in and out of the docks for loading. Travis was admired and liked by all who worked with him.
“He left a mark on my heart and he left his mark on this place. Mainly he made us all laugh and ate all of my snacks. We called him ‘smurf’ because he always got so much blue paint on himself while painting pallets”.
Recently, he caught the entrepreneurial bug and started his own business repairing trailers and installing tracking devices. He became his customers’ “go to guy”. He had purchased his own trailer, built himself a workbench for use inside the trailer and invested in the tools and hardware.
He was so very proud of his business and the brand he was building. He recently shared these lyrics with a close friend: “Believe in me; I know you’ve waited for so long; Believe in me; Sometimes the weak become the strong; Believe in me; This life’s not always what it seems; Believe in me; ‘Cause I was made for chasing dreams” (Believe~Staind). Travis enjoyed music in all forms; he could feel the music and it fed his soul.
His tenor voice was simultaneously peaceful and powerful. He enjoyed dancing and often would make videos of his smooth moves. He loved playing any kind of sport with a ball and often challenged brothers-in-law to competitions.
He enjoyed getting his hands dirty and building things for himself and his kids, like the signs hanging over the girls’ beds. Above all else, Travis was a devoted father and he loved his children. He enjoyed watching them ride their bikes, play dolls (yes, he participated), watch movies and dress up in fancy princess dresses.
He is survived by his children: Baylee, Trevor, Alyssa, Aubrey and Rosalie; his parents, Daryl and Dixie Duchesne, Centerton, Arkansas and Roy Lee and Carol White, Warrensburg, Missouri; his grandfathers, Roy E White, Warrensburg, Missouri and James Hite, Rockport, Texas; his siblings Cara Duchesne (Matt Hodkins), Gardner, Kansas, Allison (Brad) Bolt, Warrensburg, Missouri, Robert Myers, Bentonville, Arkansas, Steven Myers, San Francisco, California and Lisa (Tommy) Bean, Glenwood, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 2:00pm at Beard’s Funeral Home, 855 S Happy Hollow Rd, Fayetteville. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00pm until time of service.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 3:00pm at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home, 617 N Maguire, Warrensburg, Missouri. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30pm until time of service.
