Obituary for Tyler L. Corty “Allen, I think I peed myself! ” There was no shortage of laughter in his presence… (Questionable hook) Tyler Lee Corty, 18, loving son, brother, cousin, nephew, friend, said his last farewell on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at his home. Born in Hershey on February 9, 2001, he was the son of Shirley M. Corty, wife of Michael S. of Campbelltown, and Kevin L. Corty, husband of Nichole L. of Elizabethtown.
A senior of Palmyra High school, he was a young man of many talents. With his athletic nature, he was involved in soccer, gymnastics, wrestling, football, track, and as a hobby, he enjoyed riding dirt bike with his family. He received numerous awards, including winning 1st place in a talent show, “Lebanon’s Got Talent”, back in 2013.
Not only was he athletic, but he was also very creative. He took part in numerous plays, and enjoyed writing entertaining stories. However, if you were to ask friends and family to describe him, you would notably hear how very kind and funny he was, always having a keen way to make you laugh.
In addition to his parents, Tyler is survived by two sisters, Alyssa M. Wolfe and her boyfriend, Derek S. of Palmyra, and Josephine M. VanScyoc of Campbelltown; six brothers, Michael S. VanScyoc, Jr. of Campbelltown, Austin A. Corty, Hunter L. Corty, and Kevin L. Corty III all of Elizabethtown, and Austin T. Gruber and Travis J. Gruber both of Palmyra; maternal grandparents, Shirley Hill of Palmyra, Gary R. Wolfe of Lebanon and his wife Christine Wolfe of South Carolina, and June L. VanScyoc of Annville; paternal grandparents, Bonnie L. Hoffer and Randy L. Winters both of Hummelstown, and Leah M. Winters of Grantville; paternal great grandmother, Janet E. Dundore of Hummelstown; one nephew, Marley S. Sponauer of Palmyra; as well as six uncles, six aunts, and twenty-four cousins, all of whom will miss him dearly. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 4, 2019, at 2 PM in Palmyra Grace Church, 799 Airport Road, Palmyra, with Pastor Daniel W. Gulnac and Pastor Christian McAllister officiating. Viewing will be Monday in the church from 1 PM until time of the service.
