V. Jean Safford February 18, 1939 – February 10, 2019 Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences Jean Safford, 79, Green Bay, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, February 10, 2019 at Allouez Parkside Village. She was born February 18, 1939 to Antone and Emily (Rovinski) Bartella. Jean was a graduate of Pulaski High School, Class of 1957.

Although her given name was Virginia, everyone knew her by Jean. She married Jerry Safford in 1964. Together they had four daughters.

For those who crossed paths with Jean, they commented on her pretty blue eyes and that she had a ready smile. Besides her husband, Jerry, she is survived by her daughters, Sherri Safford (Nashville, TN), Juliane (Corey) Sutrick (Little Suamico), Denise Safford (Green Bay), and Karen Safford (Green Bay); Jean is further survived by her brother, Bob (Mary) Bartella; sister, Agnes Winiecki; sisters-in-law, Sue (Ken) Vanderloop, Connie LaChapelle, Mary Bartella, and Pat Safford; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ray Bartella, and many of Jerry’s siblings and their spouses.

Friends and family may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave, from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday with a Parish Wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday at SS. Edward and Isidore Parish, 3667 Flintville Rd. , Flintville beginning at 10 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with Rev.
