Vera Mae Dangler, December 29, 1923 — February 07, 2019

Vera Mae Dangler, 95, of Clare died peacefully at home on Thursday, February 7, 2019. Vera was born on December 29, 1923 to Charles and Rose (Jerred) Smith in Clare where she lived her entire life. She worked for the Bowler family as a housekeeper until she met her future husband Ersel.

They were married on May 1, 1943. For the next ten years they worked, traveled and did farming. Once they had children they bought a house in town where they lived the rest of their lives.

Vera also worked at Holley Carburetor, Clare Plastics and Clare Public Schools. Vera was the mother of three children and 6 grandchildren. She enjoyed walking, crocheting, puzzles, traveling and preparing family dinners every Sunday.

Most of all she loved her family providing constant love and support. She attended every sporting event, school program or other activity the grandchildren participated in and was their biggest fan. She was truly and simply the best example of what a person can aspire to be.

She is survived by sons, Dan Dangler, Ron Dangler and daughter Carolyn (Robert) Wrisley. Grandchildren Mitchell Wrisley, Chad Wrisley, Bayley Dangler, Brady Dangler, Bryce Dangler and Brooklyn Dangler. She was preceded in death by her husband Ersel, parents, brother Harold Smith, sisters Alice Koplow, Dorothy Armentrout, and Ruth Beemer.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a visitation on Sunday February 10 from 3 pm – 7 pm at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson Wyman Funeral Home. A private family service will be held at a later date. On-line condolences at www.
