Vera Mae Murray was born on April 1, 1926 in Greenwood, Louisiana to Cammie Hall and Ed Johnson. On April 16, 2018, Vera Mae Murray was promoted to Glory. There she will meet the smiling faces of her mother, Cammie Hall, father, Ed Johnson, husband, Lindsay Murray, brothers, David and Lawrence Johnson.

Vera received her early education in Greenwood, Louisiana and was a well-loved child. She accepted Christ at an early age and was led by the Holy Spirit. In the early 1950’s she relocated to Kansas City, Missouri where she met and later married Lindsay Murray in 1955.

There were no children born to this union, but together they enjoyed loving Lindsay, Jr. and shared time together as a family. Vera loved being active and was always on the go. Vera was a very devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church, until her health started to decline.

Vera Mae Murray leaves memories to be cherished by a special friend, Mr. Fred Foster; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service for Vera Mae Murray will be held Friday, April 27, 11:00 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, 3530 Chelsea Drive. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Church.

Interment, Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
