Vernon G. Mast Jr., 81, formerly of Morris and New Holland passed away on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport. Born November 28, 1936 in Narvon, he was the son of the late V. Guy and Hazel M. Summers Mast.

Vernon served in the United States Marine Corps. He was employed at New Holland Ford for over 30 years. He enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting with his wife and eating hard shell crabs at their place in northeast Maryland.

Vernon was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and a former member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Wellsboro and Our Lady of Lourdes in New Holland. Surviving is his daughter Teresa “Tammy” Houck and her husband Ronald of Williamsport; two grandchildren, Christina Izzo of Hunlock Creek and Jonathan Houck and his wife Anne Claire of New Mexico and three great grandchildren. Vernon was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary T. Mast, in 2016.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd. Williamsport. There will be a viewing from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. on Friday at the church.

A private interment will be held in Reading. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church, or to Lycoming County S.P.C.A. , 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.

Arrangements are entrusted to Sanders Mortuary.
