A service will follow at 7:00 PM. Violet May Schrader, 89, of Staatsburg New York formerly of Kingston died Saturday December 29, 2018 surrounded by her family.

Born in Newark New York June 15, 1929 she is the daughter of the late Frank Moran and Helen Johnson. Violet was employed by Rotron as a receptionist and switchboard operator until her retirement in 1991. She was previously employed as a receptionist and secretary for the Jameson Photography Studio and New York Telephone Company.

Violet will be remembered for loving to watch golf even though she never played and spending time with the family cat “Bootsie”. Some of her favorite things included requiring that the temperature of her home be extremely warm, having her nails done, outings for lunch and in her younger years Dewars and Marlboros. In her later years she was forced to exercise so she did it anyway.

She had an incredible wit and sense of humor, but of all these things family gatherings were most important. Surviving are her children; Harry G. Jameson III and his wife Carol Seitz, Wendy Lee Dunn and her husband Gerald G. Jr., William Jameson and his wife Carolyn Blake, and Stephen Jameson and his wife Barbara; a sister Meg Hagele. Grandchildren Heather Eighmey and her husband Glenn and Ian Jameson.

Great grandchildren Helena Marie Eighmey and Azadian Ryan, nephews also survive. Her husband Andrew Schrader predeceased her. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to Hospice of the Hudson Valley, 400 Aaron Court Kingston NY 12401.
