Virginia C. Pruitt, age 92 of Laurel Springs, died Friday evening, October 12, 2018 at Curis Wilkesboro Health and Rehab. Mrs. Pruitt was born Sunday, May 12, 1926 in Ashe County to the late Mabel Carolina Church. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harvey George Pruitt.

Virginia and Harvey were married on October 18, 1958 and lived in the Laurel Springs Community. Virginia had many special friends and neighbors there who were by her side for support through thick and thin. Mrs. Pruitt was an avid gardener, she grew gorgeous flower gardens and she was a farmer as well, growing vegetables, tending to cattle and helping put up the hay.

She was a skilled artist and loved oil painting, knitting and crochet. Virginia was an excellent cook, she enjoyed baking and canning her vegetables. More importantly she loved her family very much.

She was a devoted caregiver to many family members including her mother and her husband. A private graveside service for Mrs. Pruitt will be held in the Transou United Methodist Cemetery in Laurel Springs, North Carolina where she will be laid to rest with her husband. Mrs. Pruitt is survived and will be missed by several special nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.

Memorials may be made to Ashe Services for the Ageing at 180 Chattyrob Lane, West Jefferson, NC 28694. Words of remembrance or condolence may be viewed or sent to the family through our website www. badgerfuneralhome.com.
